Long holiday weekends

Amazing warm long Memorial Day weekend! And even if it's already finished, here's some positive thinking: pretty soon we will have a long Independence Day weekend and then at the end of the summer Labor Day. It means that we can already start planning and dreaming
of what we are going to do that time. I don't know how you like to spend long weekends, but my husband and I try to escape from the city, try to visit some new place, try to do something new we have never done before. So here we go- 3 possible scenarios for your next long weekend in our area (reachable by car), depending on which kind of vacation you prefer:

   - Long weekend on the beach. For sure, you have already visited some of them. But I will review good ones one more time in case you haven't. Beaches in New Jersey: Wildwood, CapeMay,Sea Isle; beach in Maryland:  Ocean City; beach in Virginia: Virginia beach. Almost all of these beach destinations have nice boardwalks with abundance of bars and restaurants with ocean view. In my opinion, for a romantic getaway for a couple choose CapeMay, for a fun vacation with kids or if you are big kid yourself choose Wildwood with several attractions and aqua parks (all in the area of the boardwalk). Visit SeaSecrets bar if you are in Ocean City, it is a party bar with tables in the sea. And for sure, don't forget to enjoy the variety of seafood. You must try famous Crab Cakes (as an entree or even in a sandwich), oysters and She Crab Soup.

     - Visiting Baltimore. Maybe you got enough tan in your property pool and you are more interested in walking in a metropolitan city. You have already been hundred times in NYC and Washington, but flying to Chicago for 3 days doesn't seem so reasonable. Visit Baltimore! There is one of the best aquariums in the United States according to the Travel Channel, and believe me, it's really worth it. Walk in the area of Inner harbor, see a game in Oriole Park at Camden Yards, visit Walters Art Museum and Sports Legends Museum, eat lunch or dinner at Bubba Gump restaurant located in the same Inner harbor. And again don't forget about seafood!

     - Camping in Assateague State Park. This place is unbelievable. For some people camping can sound scary. I'm not one of them. This park is located on the Assateague island in the ocean and connected only with 2 bridges to the main land. You don't need necessary stay in a tent, you can rent a cabin or an RV spot (there are restrooms and showers). Stations are separated from the beach by a dune and the place is very peaceful and clean. With this kind of vacation you will still get to be on the beach for less money (who goes to the shore and rents a double room for min $150 per night, knows what i mean). One night (with your own tent equipment) is roughly $30 for maximum 6 people. But comparing to the shore you will not meet crowds of drunk people walking along the beach. On the other hand, the tent part is completely DIY (do it yourself: sleeping arrangements, firing, cooking). As this place is pretty awesome, it's always booked for several months. Book in advanced.
